Enter FCA property only from Whittier Street. DO NOT ENTER THE PROPERTY FROM
N. COLUMBUS ST. WHEN THE CONES ARE SET OUT (7:30 – 8:30 a.m. AND 2:45 – 3:15 p.m.)
Morning traffic flow is counter-clockwise around the entire building from 7:30–8:30 a.m.
All traffic will enter from Whittier Dr. and exit onto N. Columbus St. with the exception of those vehicles dropping off at Door E. Vehicles dropping off at Door E will exit onto Whittier Dr. near the dumpsters.
Afternoon traffic flow:
All traffic will enter from Whittier St. Traffic may exit onto N. Columbus St. or onto Whittier St. using the lane on the South side of the building adjacent to the School Bus Zone. Use this lane with caution, but always give school buses the right of way.
Building Entrance Use:
In the morning, students may enter the building only through their assigned entrance according to their grade. Please see the building re-opening plan for specific details. Students in grades 6-12 enter at Door B. Students in Grades K-5 enter at Door E. Students in kindergarten or first grade may be walked into the school at Door C by one parent/guardian for the first 2 weeks of school only.
At dismissal time, please follow the guidelines in the re-opening plan in order to pick up your child outside the building. K, 1 and 2 will be released from Door C. K will be at 2:30, 1 will be at 2:40 and 2 will be at 2:50. Students in Grades 3-4 will be released through Door D. Grade 3 will be at 2:45 and Grade 4 will be at 2:55. Grade 5 will be released at 3:00 and should immediately exit through Doors C or D. Elementary students are not permitted to walk to Foyer B through the childcare hallway. Students in grades 6-12 will be dismissed, staggered between 2:45 and 3:00 beginning with grade 6. Students should immediately leave the building through Door B and are not permitted to re-enter the building.
The drives and parking areas on the Whittier Street side of the building will be reserved for church and academy staff parking. Do not enter this area with your personal vehicle.
Park in marked parking spots only. Do not park or stand in traffic lane areas, or in parking slots right against the building near Door B at dismissal time (2:45-3:15PM). Please do not park in the handicapped slots unless you display your handicapped sign. Cones will be set out marking those slots not to be used for parking purposes.
Limit your speed to 10 MPH while on school grounds and always travel in the direction of the painted arrows, especially in the parking areas. If you come face-to-face with another vehicle in the parking slot aisles, the right-of-way always goes to the person traveling in the same direction as the painted arrows!
Always give public school buses the right-of-way! Give priority to any bus trying to enter or exit our property. If following a bus onto our property, do not pass around the bus on either side.
